Mirror Lake

I sit on the soft pebbles of the lakes edge, awed by the stone giants that surround me. Gazing over the mirrored lake, I see the mountains again reflected on the surface of the still water. I play with the multicolored rocks and weave them between my fingers tempted to ruin the quiet with ripples of noise. As the tiny pebbles trickle out of my hand like water beads, I resist the urge to throw them. The gentle waves mimic a cat drinking water, lapping at the shore trying to quench its own thirst. Taking one last deep breath of untainted mountain air, I held the smell of nature in my nose as I meander back through the woods.

Underwater Bubbles

Looking through my goggles, I see an orange creature swimming gently through the fragile bubbles that surround him. The coral looks so delicate that if I touch it, it would melt around my fingers. Waving to me with his paper-thin fin, he calls me closer to his hiding spot. I run my fingers through the cool water pulling myself closer to him. I reach my hand slowly down into the water in attempt to play with my little orange friend, and I brush against the clear bubbles. As I travel towards the coral, it parts gracefully allowing space for my fingertips to wander. Closer I get to the fish that drew me near, when suddenly, he disappears with one last wave with his feathered fin and vanishes forever.
